A friend of mine is an entrepreneur, we often catch up and discuss a lot of things, we have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours together, we have travelled, explored restaurants, spent a lot of time together.
He uses the phrase “let’s see” often, and I am sure that after many years of engagement with this gentleman I too kind of acquired this phrase.
I am not usually a person who easily picks up phrases from others, my way of developing or adding to my vocabulary is different, but I got “let’s see” from him and it became an integral part of my communication – in my chats, calls, my day-to-day communications. It has spread exponentially, it even turned into a ritual-like ending to every conversation of mine.
A couple of my beloved ones invited my attention to this once by asking why I used “let’s see” all the time. I knew about it, though, even before they said it. I consciously started reducing its usage in my conversations, but it’s a fact that I use “let’s see” a lot! 😉
“Let’s see” is a beautiful thing, it has multiple meanings, it brings positivity, it always leaves possibility, it is open-ended, and moreover it’s a new perspective to facing the future! It has even saved me in many situations. In fact, it has brought me wonderful communicative adventures!
Today I am gratefully remembering that friend who brought “let’s see” into my life. I am sure if you look into your day-to-day communications there will be things like this that you happen to use frequently, knowingly or not, you can share those with me.
