I was listening to a talk by Natalie Hinkle who’s a famous planetary astrophysicist. She talked about the fundamental existential elements of life on earth, especially about us human beings and our roots in an absolute physical context.
Billions of years back there was a Big Bang and the stars were born, they lived, they died, collided, transformed, and after quite a lot of events, galaxies were born and our solar system came into existence, and the planets rotating our sun, including Earth, formed.
When we trackback, whatever we have on earth came from the Big Bang, the stars. Hinkle’s simple idea is that ultimately we are nothing but stardust, a complex mathematical anomaly may have worked in a chemical transformational manner, and life bloomed here, resulting in us human beings later during the process of evolution.
Ultimately, we are born, we grow up, and in the end, we dissolve into planet earth like dust, which is originally where we came from – all from the stars…
Though these thoughts and ideas were known to me, I was reminded of it again when I happened to listen to her talk today.|
It’s a beautiful, simple, humble, thought and I felt I should share this with you today.
I am grateful to Natalie for her wonderful talk on stardust.
