Can you imagine witnessing the massacre of thousands of lives every quarter of the year? I do, I have been witnessing it…
I am talking about beehives. In my neighbourhood bees build their hives, and every quarter when they become full-fledged it becomes a danger to the people, especially to children living here. The pest control team comes and injects poison and kills them. On one hand, it is done for the safety of the children and people living here, but on the other hand this action is an existential threat…
On an average, there are 10,000 to 50,000 bees in a beehive, and they are are the most important species on this planet…
The fruits, nuts and vegetables we eat, and practically everything humanity consumes, 70% of the global vegetation depends on bees, their pollination process makes the Earth alive, but we often forget about the relevance of bees…
It was when I happened to watch a documentary on bees that I came to know about the depth of the existential threat bees are facing because studies say that 80% of the bees on the planet have disappeared. There might be options, and research and development happening in the creation of artificially intelligent robotic bees for pollination, but it’s our responsibility to keep the bees alive…
We invaded their forests and built our skyscrapers, and when they build their homes over our homes or in our neighbourhood, we kill them. I don’t know how many of you are aware of this but, if possible, please read or find out more about the significance of bees on the planet…
Today with a bit of concern, I am gratefully remembering every bee who makes this planet alive.
