Jalal ad-Din Muhammed Rumi was a 13th-century Persian scholar, poet, and Sufi mystic who transcended the life and customs of that time.
Rumi’s thoughts, perceptions and poetry are timeless, they are relevant today and will be in the future too, I hope. They are universal, full of love, compassion, gratitude, devotion, humility, simplicity, beauty, and a lot more qualities that could strengthen our spirit.
Recently I happened to read a note, a couple of lines from Rumi:
I asked, “Why have I received only this?”
A voice replied, “ Only this will lead you to That.”
I think it’s an amazing perception, Rumi has decrypted the mystery and sorrow, complexity and unpredictability of life with these two sentences. Every human being when they are in a difficult or uncertain situation asks, “Why I have got this?” but Rumi opens up an interminable possibility that “Only this can lead you to that.”
My conviction is that these two sentences are good enough for anyone on this planet to survive and excel in any walk of life.
Today I am gratefully remembering these lines from the great Jalal ad-Din Muhammed Rumi.
