day353 – Feeling small

August 20, 2021August 20, 2021 by Amarnath

I just happened to notice a groundbreaking study on human tactile perception (the sense of touch) by a team of Swedish scientists.

They show that people can detect things at nano-scale while running their fingers upon a seemingly smooth surface up to 13 nanometers!

For a better understanding, if our fingers are of the scale of the earth in terms of size then we can touch and feel the difference between buildings and trees and vehicles on earth!

I’m sure that most of us must have disregarded our ability to touch but it really is this powerful and intense!

Let’s touch and experience the outer world with this awareness from the next moment on and explore the vast possibility of our tactile perception.

My gratitude to nature / the universe/evolution that gifted us such a powerful device to indulge in the physicality of the world!
