day349 – The democratic polity

August 16, 2021August 17, 2021 by Amarnath

People of Afghanistan are trying to escape from their own motherland, clinging on to aeroplanes, horribly falling from 20000 feet and dying.

Today the whole world has been witnessing such heartbreaking visuals from Kabul after the Taliban invasion.

These visuals remind me that I’m living in a heaven on earth, my motherland.

There is nothing much to explain, I’m truly remembering the founders of independent India and the great leaders who shaped this country into what it is today.

India is not perfect, but undoubtedly the largest democratic polity!

My gratitude to the founders, leaders, and more to its people who preserved its sovereignty and democracy.
