Years ago a master once told me to try something out to expand the experience of living. it was this – Our most powerful collection of memory is the visual memory. We recall things as visuals. We have the power to travel back time with past memories played as visuals in our minds.
There is another powerful dimension of memory also there within us, which is our Olfactory memory, which most of us would normally ignore.
Olfactory memory refers to the recollection of odours. If we start giving conscious attention to things and circumstances in terms of their odour, it will start revealing a new degree of experience to us.
If we practice enough, we could even trigger memories with odours and back.
Sometimes it may look a bit strange to you if you haven’t paid enough attention to our ability to smell, but in my experience, it’s totally a parallel world!
Today when I was discussing it with a friend I was recalling the master who introduced this idea to me to explore !
My gratitude to the Master who opened this new world of odours to me…
