Steve Jobs has always been among my favourite changemakers. Today I noticed one of his famous quotes on an Instagram page – “If you want to make everyone happy, don’t be a leader, sell ice cream.”
I think it is a simple but groundbreaking thought. There are many kinds of people out there. Ones who want to be liked by everyone, ones who want to be right, another set that want to be comfortable and also a set of people who want to win and bring about change…
The leader of a tribe may have to take tough decisions that may not taste sweet to everyone. They may get criticised but ultimately there would be a positive impact on the tribe.
It is a universal truth that someone will always be unhappy with your decisions.
Today I’m extending my gratitude to Steve Jobs for this daring thought.
