I’ve been keenly observing the latest conflict between Israel security forces and Hamas. It’s unfortunate that many people are getting killed on both sides every day, and their skies are filled with thousands of rockets.
Of course self-defence is everyone’s right but I wonder how long they can keep fighting each other. It’s not just the issue between Israel and Palestine, it’s the same in Kashmir, and many other places.
We are now in 2021 CE and it’s unfortunate that we are still unable to resolve conflicts without fights.
I’m recalling the words of an African writer: “Physical strength deciding right and wrong is a many century old perspective. It is intelligence, the ability to innovate and creativity that should decide how power is put in place.”
I truly wish for innovative and creative ways to solve centuries-old conflicts. I really don’t know how but I hope and wish for it to happen!
It’s about setting more serene examples for young minds about resolving conflicts. It’s about a more civilised and humane way of making history.
Today I’m gratefully honouring the idea of non-violence in my heart.
