Sometimes we personally or very secretly admire something about some people. Some quality, some talent, some feature, sometimes something very small but quite special.
But most of us do not communicate our admiration to those people – it could be a stranger, a relative, or even close friends. Something pulls us back from saying it to them… It’s possible that it’s our ego that makes us hold back.
I used to be hesitant about letting people know that I admired specific qualities about them. But then I realized that appreciating someone else provides us with a great sense of acknowledgment. It’s a gentle gesture of appreciation and a great tool to burn our ego to ashes.
A friend of mine is a master of this art of appreciation and I’m greatly inspired by him. I’m no longer stingy about such acknowledgment, I no longer hold back.
Today I’m extending my gratitude to that friend of mine.
