I noticed that a sensible friend of mine (at times more a mentor) shared a book on his Instagram story – “We Should all be Feminists” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
I instantly pinged him and started a conversation about feminism (something which still is a mirage to my knowledge base).
Rather than continuing the discussion he immediately couriered the book to me to read.
I consider this little book as my humble entry to the narrative of feminism. In my limited understanding of feminism, I felt distanced from it, I felt like it was a group of people noisily making unrealistic arguments, so I’ve never paid attention to that narrative.
But this specific book has slightly changed my perspective and it inspires me to find out and understand more about the feminist narrative.
Today I’m gratefully remembering my friend who gave me this particular book and opened a new window of hope and perspective to me.
