I am an entrepreneur and my enterprise falls under the services category. I have always been a fan of entrepreneurs who deal with consumer goods, technically B2C products because the potential of that area of business is infinite.
I read an article in the BBC about the richest man who ever in the modern world – the West African ruler Mansa Musa, who lived in the 14th century. His empire was called the Mali Empire and during his time he owned trillion-dollar wealth adjusted to today’s value of currencies.
His predominant business was selling salt and gold, he controlled about 50% of the entire salt trade in the world in those days. That was an amazing insight, salt a very simple basic element used by every house in the world which he sold in the 14th century.
It is truly an inspiration for entrepreneurs who invent a product that can be sold to billions of people across the world.
Today I am extending my gratitude to all those visionaries who built empires by creating and selling consumer good across the world.
