Today I visited one of the largest and newest shopping centres in the city. It has 6 floors full of garments and textiles. Each floor is dedicated to different categories of customers and we covered almost every floor. While taking the escalator, I recalled my very first escalator experience.
I was in the 11th standard when a shopping mall opened in my hometown. I still remember my best friend from that time, I went with him to the mall and I preferred to take the stairs than the escalator because the thought of getting on one made me panic. It moved continuously, so I was a bit afraid, but he insisted that he was quite experienced though.
He held my hands and made me take the very first step on the escalator, and it was an absolute wow experience. After that years passed, I happened to travel to many parts of the world and get on many types of escalators for different purposes and it became part of my normal life.
When I got on the escalator today I don’t know why but I recalled the face of my friend who taught me to take the very first step on an escalator. And our lives are like that. We may have taken an escalator to reach many points but it is always wonderful to cherish the very first step and the people who helped us kickstart the process.
