This evening when I was driving I played a popular Tamil song which goes:
“Malargalae Malargalae Idhu Enne Kanava
Malaigalae Malaigale Idhu Enne Ninaivaa
Urugiyadhae Enadhullam Perugiyadhae
Vizhivellam Vinnodu Nee Dhan
Mannodhu Nee Dhan Kannodu Nee Dhan Vaa”
It’s a superhit song but today only I paid attention to the lyrics of the song. In fact, today it touched me deep. The English translation is:
“Hey, flowers, flowers, is this a dream?
Hello, mountains, mountains, is this true?
My heart melts,
The river of glances is in floods…
In the sky,
On the ground,
In my eye, I see you,
come to me, come…”
The song made my evening a complete one. I am extending my gratitude to the makers of the song, especially the music director A.R. Rahman, the lyricist Vairamuthu and the playback singers Hariharan and KS Chithra.
