day141 – Storyteller

January 20, 2021August 3, 2021 by Amarnath

A friend of mine, who was a fantastic storyteller, used to sit beside me in lower primary school. Sometimes I provided a thread and he created a story out of it. He drew every frame and told the story, continuously drawing frames and characters, frame after frame, he would erase the slate and draw again as he told the story.

It was the time when Sachin Tendulkar was still playing, and I remember there were things like Sachin acts in films and aliens visit Kerala to have Onam sadhya (the delicious Onam feast) in his stories.

Most free classes, or during boring classes, we used to make stories, he contributed most of the story and drew all the scenes one after another.

All these years later, he has become a banker and somehow somewhere I ended up being a storyteller, and I can truly say that he inspired me a lot to liberate my imagination.

Today I am extending my gratitude to that friend of mine, one of the finest storytellers I have ever known.
