It was in January in 2019 that I was in Jaipur, Rajasthan, for the first time. I had a meeting in Delhi after which I took an Uber from Delhi to Jaipur which was cheaper and faster than catching a flight. Also, one of my friends told me that the route we would take would be beautiful.
I was going to Jaipur the day before Makar Sankranti and I had a meeting on the day after Makar Sankranti, so I had a whole day off in between. I actually had no idea about the Makar Sankranti celebration and as I was approaching Jaipur I was stunned by the sight of thousands of kites in the sky. People were flying kites on top of every building, it was a nice surprise to me, especially since my being there was totally unplanned.
But the ultimate surprise was at night when the whole city and outskirts of the city was illuminated with lights and unbelievable fireworks being set off continuously for hours, the whole of Jaipur was lit by fireworks in the sky.
The journey was totally unplanned but the experience I had was phenomenal.
What I can say about this incident is that it was all about some beautiful coincidences. I think if we pay enough attention to the happenings in our lives we can understand that what makes life more interesting and fresh is such coincidences, surprises that life presents to us on our journey.
Today I am gratefully remembering the meaningful coincidences that have ever happened in my life and made it so beautiful.
