This is a time when people across the world talk about instant messengers, their technicalities and privacy policies, priorities, and other stuff.
I thought about the very first instant messenger I used, Yahoo Messenger, at the beginning of the 21st century.
In those days smileys, the usage of abbreviations and such things were quite new and literally wonderful. It was unbelievable, getting into a chat room, talking and engaging with people of different countries, nationalities, languages, and random chats – it was the ultimate fun. Smileys were known as “emoticons”, most chats with strangers started with ASL, and other experiences like that. It’s also a fact that I built some really valuable friendships with people whom I met through instant messengers back then.
In the last 15-20 years, communication systems have evolved exponentially and anybody around the world is at our fingertips.
Today I am extending my gratitude to all the instant messengers I have ever used and experimented with and all the ones I am using now.
You can also share the instant messengers you used for the first time and your experiences with them.
