This evening I was at the car wash waiting for my turn in the lounge when I saw a friend of mine through the glass partition.
We waved to each other, he parked his car nearby and came to the lounge to meet me.
We exchanged hellos and he said, “Amar, I used to read your gratitude notes almost everyday.” I thanked him for reading, and he said, “In the earlier days, you wrote a post on Breath, which touched me a lot. I felt very emotional the day I read your note.”
I asked him if there was anything particular about it that he liked and if all was good with him.
To which he said, “Recently, I developed breathing trouble and was being treated for it, I was able to take in only half of what I used to breathe. Now I feel better, breath is something which I had taken for granted, and I never felt the need to be thankful for it.”
I was shocked, I did not know what to say to that. I told him to take care and prayed for a couple of moments for him to heal soon.
We write things from some perspectives, but how it touches the lives of the others is beyond our imagination…!
That’s all I can say about this incident…. Today I am extending the gratitude to our ability to take a breath…again!
