The legendary Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford University commencement speech is very famous, millions of people have watched it on the internet.
I strongly believe that the speech given by Steve Jobs has had a profound influence on a whole new generation of entrepreneurs including me across the new world order..
I personally like one of the coolest aspects of life in that speech. He says to consider every event that happens in life a dot, we can connect all the dots backwards, when we look back all these events are connected like a chain reaction but we are unable to connect the dots forward, we don’t know what will happen tomorrow, we are not able to foresee the future the way we are able to look at past.
It’s an amazing perspective but when an idea like this is introduced people may feel very low because if the future is uncertain then what is the point in walking or driving towards the future. But he has an answer.
He says that even though we cannot connect the dots forward, we can overcome that uncertainty with the power of belief. Believe in something, it could be anything, it could be life, karma, gut feelings, nature, anything. It could even be even destiny, you have to trust it, believe it, and look forward.
Connecting with the road ahead on such a belief will give you the confidence to listen to your heart, to follow your heart, even though sometimes it may lead you to deviate the well-known paths but this belief, this trust in something beyond your perception will grant you the courage to take the odd routes and make your life an extraordinary one.
Today I am very grateful for this wonderful idea given by the great Steve Jobs.
