Today I am gratefully remembering the laptop I have been using for almost 6 1/2 years. I bought it in 2014 and it’s this cute 11″ MacBook Air laptop. It is not looking as sexy as it used to, but I can say that it has never let me down once. I have met thousands of people, I have attended hundreds of meetings, made many hundreds of presentations and closed hundreds of deals (many failed), but this laptop has been with me as a silent witness, and it is with me now. I would say I have spent more time with it than with my family members or friends in these years and so I am grateful to this laptop. Needless to say that I haven’t spent a single cent for repairs / servicing on it.
It was not so far from the time we began our startup CAT that we bought 2 laptops, me and my partner Chachu. We were and still are a bootstrapped startup. Back then it was not very affordable for us to buy it, but we did it. It was at that time that we happened to close a project funded by MIT. So, one fine morning when we found some money in our bank account wired from Boston, USA we bought our laptops. Maybe our inclination towards Steve Jobs and Apple drove us to make that choice.
